US Military Makes Youtube, MySpace Off Limits!

United States military officials said on Monday that MySpace, YouTube and about ten other social-networking websites are off limits to soldiers using Department of Defense computer systems.

Clogging up bandwidth

The regulation is intended primarily to prevent military Internet connections from being clogged with uploads or downloads of data-rich files such as video clips, said Defense Department spokesperson Commander Jeffrey Gordon.

The ban is also meant to guard against infiltration by malicious or spying software hidden in files by hackers, according to Gordon.

“The bottom line is bandwidth; that is the most important thing,” Gordon told AFP. “We have to make sure the network is reliable.”

Keeping in touch

US soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan have increasingly used community-oriented websites such as YouTube and MySpace to share videos, images or stories about their daily lives with loved ones and the world.

The regulation does not prevent soldiers from accessing the websites with their own computers and Internet connections.

However, most US soldiers deployed in battle zones in the Middle East are only able to access the Internet via Defense Department networks.

“It obviously impacts people deployed far greater than those in the US,” Gordon said of the new rule. “Here you can just go home to your house and go online, or go to a coffee shop to get on the Internet.”

US soldiers remain able to write online journals, or “milblogs,” using DOD networks as long as they adhere to requirements not to reveal information that could jeopardise missions.

MySpace, YouTube and the other websites were targeted for restriction after a usage study showed they were the most visited websites by soldiers, according to Gordon.

Poll Finds Clear Majority Of Americans Oppose War With Iran

A new poll finds Americans aren’t ready to go to war with Iran, even in the face of Tehran gaining nuclear power.In a CNN survey conducted by the Opinion Research Corporation, 63 percent of Americans oppose military action against Iran, while only 33 percent support it.

The finding goes against the second question asked of Americans, where 36 percent of the public says they find Iran to be an unfriendly nation, and 46 percent who believe the Islamic Republic is an “enemy” of the United States.

Only 3 percent of Americans believe Iran is an ally, while 12 percent think of the country as a friend.

Christian Zionist Leader Jerry Falwell Dies

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Rev. Jerry Falwell — founder of the Moral Majority and the face of the religious right in the 1980s — died Tuesday after being found unconscious in his office, a Liberty University executive said.

Ron Godwin, Liberty’s executive vice president, said Falwell, 73, had been found unresponsive around 10:45 a.m. and was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital.

Godwin said he was not sure what caused the collapse, but noted that Falwell had “a history of heart challenges.”

“I had breakfast with him, and he was fine at breakfast,” Godwin said. “He went to his office, I went to mine and they found him unresponsive.”

Falwell, a television evangelist who founded the Moral Majority in 1979, became the face of the religious right in the 1980s. He later founded the conservative Liberty University and served as its chancellor.

In the 1980s, Falwell saw his political lobbying organization grow to 6.5 million members, raising millions of dollars for conservative politicians and helping to elect Ronald Reagan president.

A biography of Falwell on Liberty University’s Web site states that “with the impetus of the newly organized Moral Majority, millions of people of faith voted for the first time in 1980 and helped elect Ronald Reagan and many conservative congressmen and senators.”

Falwell survived two serious health scares in early 2005. He was hospitalized in February for two weeks with what was described as a viral infection, then hospitalized again in March with congestive heart failure after being found unconscious. At that time he had to be resuscitated by EMTs at the hospital emergency room.

A native of Lynchburg, Falwell and his wife, Macel, have three children and eight grandchildren.

His Jerry Falwell ministries take in about $200 million a year in revenues, according to Liberty University’s Web site.

Liberty University’s commencement is scheduled for Saturday, with former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich as the featured speaker.

McCain telling supporters to spam conservative blogs

Wow. CNN’s Jackie Schechner just reported that John McCain’s presidential campaign Web site is urging supporters to spam conservative blogs tonight with pro-McCain comments in order to make it look like McCain won the debate. This, from McCain’s site:

Make your voice heard on other blogs. Click here for our blog roll and visit other blogs before, during and after the debate to make your voice heard and talking up your support of John McCain. Many of these sites will be querying their audiences about who won the debate – help us promote John McCain.

Only problem? Few top conservative blogs accept comments from readers – most of the top liberal blogs do accept such comments.

I’m not sure if this is smart, or too smart by half, of McCain. If it were my blog, I’d be ticked that some candidate was telling his minions to flood us with astro-turf (i.e., concocted) support for a certain candidate. Having said that, it’s not a dumb idea to have your supporters talking you up. But still, something feels fake about McCain’s appeal. Curious what others think.

Scientific Poll: 84% of Americans Reject Official 9/11 Story

This poll was actually carried out in October 2006 and it shows a magnificent rise in the number of people who believe that the official 9/11 is just nonsense.

A monumental new scientific opinion poll has emerged which declares that only 16% of people in America now believe the official government explanation of the September 11th 2001 terror attacks.

According to the new New York Times/CBS News poll, only 16% of Americans think the government is telling the truth about 9/11 and the intelligence prior to the attacks:

“Do you think members of the Bush Administration are telling the truth, are mostly telling the truth but hiding something, or are they mostly lying?

Telling the truth 16%

Hiding something 53%

Mostly lying 28%

Not sure 3%”

The 84% figure mirrors other recent polls on the same issue. A Canadian Poll put the figure at 85%. A CNN poll had the figure at 89%. Over 80% supported the stance of Charlie Sheen when he went public with his opinions on 9/11 as an inside job.

A recent CNN poll found that the percentage of Americans who blame the Bush administration for the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington rose from almost a third to almost half over the past four years. This latest poll shows that that figure has again risen exponentially and now stands at well over three quarters of the population.

It took 35 plus years for the majority of Americans to wake up to the fact that the assassination of JFK was a government operation. It has only take five years for MORE Americans to wake up to the fact that 9/11 was an inside job on behalf of the Neoconservative crime syndicate within the US.

Reference to past polls show that in the last five years there has been an explosion in numbers of those who do not buy the official line.

In 2004 a Zogby Poll showed that just over half of New Yorkers believed there was a cover up.

In May of this year another Zogby poll indicated that around half of ALL Americans did not buy the official story.

The latest poll also shows a massive awakening has occurred recently given that previous estimates indicated that around 34% still believed the official story and around 30% were oblivious altogether.

Alex Jones declared that the Truth movement has cause to celebrate this evening as it is now beyond any doubt that the vast majority of Americans know that the official story of 19 Saudis with box cutters is ludicrous.

The diligence of those who have worked to educate the world on 9/11 truth from day one cannot be underestimated. We are now seeing the fruits of this hard and at times extremely trying labor hit home.

We would add that although this is a major victory for the truth movement it does not mean that the hard work can stop.

The next step is to use the majority opinion as leverage towards officially changing the record of what happened on 9/11, forcing the mainstream media into addressing the issue, not as a quirky news item, but as a serious re-defining of the state of the nation and the world today.

We have not taken the country back yet and the cabal that has taken control of the government continues to systematically use 9/11 and the war on terror as an excuse to destroy the Constitutional foundations of law and order in America.

 

As it becomes clearer that more and more Americans KNOW that their government is lying to them on the most fundamental issue of their lifetimes, we must consider what kind of reaction the government will undertake.

Remember that the majority of American voters now believe the Sept. 11 terrorist attack was a more significant historical event than the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

In July 2001 Alex jones issued an emergency warning that there was going to be a massive false flag terrorist attack in New York to be blamed on Osama Bin Laden. At that time there was not enough activism among the population to prevent it going ahead.

In August of 2006 Alex Jones issued a second emergency warning that all the factors pointed towards an imminent attack. The activism that occurred in the wake of this warning and that of others was exponential and may indeed have helped stave off another attack.

Our next warning is this, desperate times call for desperate measures. The criminal elements of the government now know that they have been totally exposed and are reviled by the majority of free thinking Americans. Will their response be to vamp up the crack down on that free thinking itself?

In essence Americans have outright REJECTED giving up their liberty for security in the wake of 9/11. The only security IS liberty itself, and the only way to stay secure is to constantly defend liberty.

Update: Silverstein Family Were All “Running Late” On 9/11

Amazing coincidences spared all three Silversteins from harmFollowing our article yesterday in which we revealed New York 9/11 truth activist Luke Rudkowski’s claims that Silverstein’s security had personally told him that Silverstein and his daughter got a warning on the morning of 9/11 not to come to work that day, we have been inundated with emails asking us to highlight the fact that there were in fact three Silversteins working in the towers who were all “running late” on that day.

“We talked to their private security staff, we talked to people who were there with Larry on 9/11 – they said he got a phone call telling him not to show up to work and he called his daughter up and his daughter also never showed up to work,” Rudkowski told a radio show this past weekend.

More information comes in the shape of a March 13, 2003 New York Observer piece on Silverstein and his attempts to secure insurance money which he claims is the only source of revenue for rebuilding at the ground zero site.

The Observer piece, recounting the day, stated:

After a last-minute breakdown in the front-running bid, Mr. Silverstein’s team won by a hair. His son, Roger, and his daughter, Lisa, were working for him in temporary offices on the 88th floor of the W.T.C. north tower. Regular meetings with tenants in the weeks immediately following their July 26, 2001, takeover of the building were held each morning at Windows on the World.

But on Sept. 11, Roger and Lisa Silverstein were running late. Meanwhile, Mr. Silverstein’s wife of 46 years had laid down the law: The developer could not cancel an appointment with his dermatologist, even to meet with tenants at his most important property. If the attack had happened just a little later, Mr. Silverstein’s children would likely have been trapped at Windows. As it was, Silverstein Properties lost four employees in the attack, two of whom had just recently been hired.

We have previously reported on Silverstein’s determined quest to rake in every last penny possible from 9/11 and the fact that he has already secured billions from other insurers without a blink of an eye over the fact that he leased the property for 99 years just six weeks before the attacks and has since been caught in an admission that he ordered at least one of the buildings, WTC 7, “pulled” on 9/11.

Larry Silverstein, WTC complex leaseholder, Warned Not To Come To Work On 9/11

New York 9/11 truth activist Luke Rudkowski claims WTC complex leaseholder Larry Silverstein and his daughter got a warning on the morning of 9/11 not to come to work that day – his source? – Silverstein’s own security guards.

Rudkowski and his protest group We Are Change protested Silverstein outside the new WTC 7 building last month and were confronted by Silverstein’s security entourage who proceeded to harass the group before calling in a fake bomb threat to the NYPD in an attempt to have the demonstrators arrested.

“We talked to their private security staff, we talked to people who were there with Larry on 9/11 – they said he got a phone call telling him not to show up to work and he called his daughter up and his daughter also never showed up to work,” Rudkowski told a radio show this past weekend.

Obviously, Silverstein arrived later in the day but the claim that he was given foreknowledge of an incident at the World Trade Center before the first plane had crashed is a bombshell revelation, perhaps even shadowing his infamous “pull it” comment.

Interestingly, Silverstein told the Wall Street Journal on Saturday that his wife had forced him to fulfil a doctors appointment on the morning of 9/11, meaning he would miss his usual breakfast date at the Windows on the World restaurant, which was located on the 107th floor of the World Trade Center’s north tower.

Was Silverstein getting his alibi out ahead of time?

Security guard who called in false bomb threat to frame demonstrators fired

In addition, it has since come to light that one of the thug security guards who intimidated We Are Change protesters during a demonstration outside the new WTC 7 and called in a false bomb threat to frame the group, was recently fired by Silverstein Properties.

Rudkowski is now seeking legal representation to explore a possible lawsuit against the security guard, who also threatened the activists with “30 days in the hole” as well as claiming their cell phones were guns and that the wires coming out of their bags were bombs.

NYPD police later arrived to investigate the bomb threat but the protesters were left alone as it immediately became apparent that the security guard had made a hoax bomb report, a serious crime.

Such knowingly misleading and false information is not only malicious and immoral, but has been made specifically illegal under the Anti-Hoax Terrorism Act of 2003 and expanded for more stringency in 2004 and the Terrorism Prevention Act of 2006, not to mention long-standing protections against defamation and public endangerment. There are also many state and local laws prohibiting such activity.

Rudkowski is of the opinion that Silverstein Properties promptly fired the security guard in an attempt to offset potential litigation.
