Israeli troops shoot Hebron family“Israeli soldiers have killed an unarmed 67-year-old Palestinian and wounded four members of his family in a raid in the West Bank town of Hebron.
Yehia al-Jabari was shot dead by soldiers who raided his home on Wednesday to detain one of his sons……
Residents of Hebron disputed the army’s version of events.
One witness said: “They [Israeli soldiers] came like wild dogs and when they did, they opened the door and started shooting. The soldier killed an old man, the head of the household.
“His wife came out screaming so the soldier shot her and then he shot his brother and then the children. Go and look at the house. It’s a pool of blood.”……”
Officially, the Israelis say their soldiers opened fire only after a group of men assaulted them and tried to grab their weapons. Those who were there say that’s a lie. The images are as shocking as the story itself. But for those who have lived under these conditions for forty years…..incidents like this no longer come as a surprise.
