London mayor defends Muslims

 

London Mayor Ken Livingstone called on Britons yesterday not to demonize Muslims after a double car bomb plot was foiled in the capital, amid fears of an Islamist terror threat. “In this city, Muslims are more likely to be law-abiding than non-Muslims and less likely to support the use of violence to achieve political ends than non-Muslims,” he told BBC Radio. “They have played a good and active and growing role in creating a multi-cultural society,” he added.
Ken Livingstone noted that terrorist acts had been carried out in London over the years by various groups including for example far-right groups. For years the British capital was wracked by violence by the Irish Republican Army (IRA). “All I am interested in as mayor is that we try to prevent all acts of violence whether it is by a disaffected young member of the (far-right) BNP (British National Party), whether it is by an Islamist…,” AFP quoted him as saying. It was crucial to understand that “that doesn’t mean that all white men are potentially a threat to society any more than all Muslims are,” he added.

News agency to counter Islamophobia

 

To dispel the constant negative image painted by some parties and to give a better view of Islam, the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) plans to revive the International Islamic News Agency and Malaysia is expected to play a key role in its restructuring.

Malaysian Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said the time was right to revive the Jeddah-based agency to disseminate information regarding Muslims to counter the Islamophobia that is gripping the world.

“News from the Islamic world is not reported in the mainstream media, only sensational news is reported. Even if it is reported, it is somewhere in the corner (of the paper), not a main news,” said Syed Hamid, who was attending the 34th Session of the Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers (ICFM) in the Pakistani capital.

The International Islamic News Agency, or IINA, is an organ of the OIC established in 1972 to highlight news from the Muslim society in major languages like Arabic, English and French. However, the agency had not been able to penetrate the non-Muslim media to promote its views on Islamic affairs.

IINA director Abdul Wahab Kashif said, “The West does not take our stories because they are not interested in Islam. They are more interested in sensational news and unusual things,” he said, adding IINA needed proper funding to operate effectively.

“Shahid Malik” The First Muslim Minister in British History

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has named Muslim Labour MP Shahid Malik as a minister at the Department for International Development (DFID), joining a diverse cabinet of young secretaries and ministers of different backgrounds.

Malik is the first Muslm minister in British history.

 

In 2015 Muslims will force European races out of Europe? What a crab!!!

Johann Hari has always been one of our favourite Islamophobes. Unlike many self-styled defenders of Enlightenment values he is in fact capable of rational thought, plus he has an understanding that there is such a thing as imperialism, which always helps. And, to be fair, he does take a stand against the more egregious examples of anti-Muslim bigotry. His piece in the next issue of The New Republic about a cruise sponsored by the right-wing magazine National Review gives an entertaining – if rather scary – insight into the Islamophobic hysteria that has gripped US conservatives:

“I am standing waist-deep in the Pacific Ocean, indulging in the polite chit-chat beloved by vacationing Americans. A sweet elderly lady from Los Angeles is sitting on the rocks nearby, telling me dreamily about her son. ‘Is he your only child?’ I ask. ‘Yes’, she answers. ‘Do you have a child back in England?’ she asks me. No, I say. Her face darkens. ‘You’d better start’, she says. ‘The Muslims are breeding. Soon, they’ll have the whole of Europe.’

“… So, you’re a European, one of the Park Avenue ladies says, before offering witty commentaries on the cities she’s visited. Her companion adds, ‘I went to Paris, and it was so lovely.’ Her face darkens: ‘But then you think – it’s surrounded by Muslims.’ The first lady nods: ‘They’re out there, and they’re coming.’ Emboldened, the bearded Floridian wags a finger and says, ‘Down the line, we’re not going to bail out the French again.’ He mimes picking up a phone and shouts into it, ‘I can’t hear you, Jacques! What’s that? The Muslims are doing what to you? I can’t hear you!’

“… The idea that Europe is being ‘taken over’ is the unifying theme of this cruise. Some people go on singles’ cruises, some on ballroom-dancing cruises. This is the Muslims Are Coming cruise. Everyone thinks it. Everyone knows it. And the man most responsible for this insight is sitting only a few tables down: Mark Steyn. He is wearing sunglasses on top of his head and a bright shirt. Steyn’s thesis in his new book, America Alone, is simple: The ‘European races’ – i.e., white people – ‘are too self-absorbed to breed’, but the Muslims are multiplying quickly. The inevitable result will be ‘large-scale evacuation operations circa 2015′ as Europe is ceded to Al Qaeda and ‘Greater France remorselessly evolve[s] into Greater Bosnia’. He offers a light smearing of dubious demographic figures – he needs to turn 20 million European Muslims into more than 150 million in nine years, which is a lot of humping – to ‘prove’ his case.

“But facts, figures, and doubt are not on the itinerary of this cruise. With one or two exceptions, the passengers discuss ‘the Muslims’ as a homogenous, sharia-seeking block – already with near-total control of Europe. Over the week, I am asked nine times – I counted – when I am fleeing Europe’s encroaching Muslim population for the safety of the United States.”

British MI5 Had Hand In Previous Car Bombings

Security services played role in similar previous attacks, massive car bomb discovered in London

Intelligence sources are refusing to rule out an Irish connection to a massive car bomb that was discovered in the heart of London this morning. Though at this early stage the facts are sketchy, any link to the IRA or its offshoots would re-open a can of worms concerning the MI5’s role in past terror attacks, and specifically car bombings, over the last few decades in Britain and Northern Ireland.

London Bombs Against Gays

A few days ago, an Orthodox Jewish suicide bomber was apprehended by Israeli officials before he had a chance to set off his bomb at the Jerusalem Gay Pride Parade (Orthodox Jews have a problem with gays).  We didn’t hear a lot about this, as Jews are always supposed to be victims, and by definition can’t be terrorists.  Had he succeeded, he no doubt would have been described as the victim, and an Arab body would have been chosen to be the terrorist.  Then the usual typists would have written their opinion pieces wondering what is it in the ‘Arab mind’ that makes the Palestinians so prone to suicide bombing.
It is the gay press that has noticed that one of the latest London ‘bombs’ was on the route of the Gay Pride Parade, and the other parked nearby.  The parade was scheduled for the day following the parking of the two cars (although the gay press is downplaying the obvious connection, presumably not to reduce attendance).  The car on the route of the parade had been seen being driven ‘erratically’. presumably so it would be noticed (it actually drove into garbage bins in front of a busy nightclub), and had gasoline inside in full view (with labeled containers in case anyone was really slow).  The shrapnel was spread on the floor, where it would have had no or little effect, and the police seem to be having difficulty describing the detonator, leading me to believe there wasn’t one.  These weren’t bombs, they were warnings.
Needless to say, the cars were described as bombs placed by ‘al Qaeda’, before anyone could have determined who was responsible.  I’d be looking for religious fundamentalists, most likely Christian, who have orientation issues (i. e., fear of catching ‘teh gay’).

Indonesian Muslims Fear Christianization

Yesterday, I posted an article about the German rejection of a new mosque to be built near a globally Christian landmark in Cologne. The article quoted the Cathedral`s dean, Prelate Johannes Bastegen. “We live in a land of religious freedom”, the dean said. “I would be very glad if the same principle existed in Muslim countries”.

So, if that land is a land of freedom, why are they rejecting the mosque? And why are they demonstarting against it?

What that man said meant that Muslims do not allow Dhimmis or (Christians and Jews) to build their worship buildings in Arabic and Muslim countries. The following article says it all and replies harshly to  Prelate Johannes Bastegen who talks nonsense without knowing what he really is talking about. The next article shows how Churches are so many in Indonesia which about 88% of its population are Muslims and how Christianization is becoming one of the problems facing the Muslim community there.
