As I alluded to in my first comment, those men are beneficiaries of and probably perpetrators within a society that thrives on oppression. Just look at all of the Islamic world. Therefore, we should not feel sorry for those who commit exactly what they are accusing others of doing. As for them becoming militant and possibly terrorist, I’d say that was part of their being from the beginning.

LoriMarie, you didn’t get what Miscellany said,
The detainees were determined innocents after they were tortured. Who said they were innocents? The U.S. govt. So, what Miscellany meant that those people were tortured while they were innocents and after they were released because they were determined innocents, they sought revenge. That is what Miscellany meant.
Please, make sure you pay attention while reading before leaving uninformed comments. Thanx for stepping by and giving us a piece of your mind.

you cannot possibly believe the propaganda can you? You are going to state for the record that those held at Guantanamo were actually innocent? Perhaps a few but not much more than that.

As for the responsibility issue, I’d say those who believe as you do will be responsible for acts of terror against the US. In our zeal to rightly criticize the Bush admin, many of us have become appeasers to radical islamists. That should not be. I am relieved to know that there are plenty who will not just sit back while they attempt to spread chaos throughout the world.

LoriMari, don’t you know, they probably did start their terroristic behavior AFTER they were tortured, determined innocent and then released by their American interrogators.

I’m no friend of the Bush Administration nor Condoleeza Rice specifically. But I wonder how many of those “tortured” prisoners have actually tortured others through terrorism, violence against women, etc.
